Participants will learn to analyze patterns in students' phonemic awareness, phonics knowledge, and writing to design targeted spelling and grammar instruction. Teachers will explore methods for differentiating spelling and grammar instruction and connecting spelling to reading and writing development so that students get the precise instruction they need.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  • Analyze spelling and writing data to inform instructional decisions

  • Design responsive spelling and grammar lessons based on student needs

  • Implement effective whole class and small group teaching strategies

  • Create meaningful practice opportunities that reinforce learning

  • Develop tools for monitoring spelling and grammar development over time

Upon completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of participation; and NY State educators are eligible to receive CTLE credits.
