Teachers College Advancing Literacy invites you to attend our October Virtual Saturday Reunion! We'll join together over Zoom to learn and collaborate with literacy leaders, staff developers, and friends of Teachers College.
Choose from dozens of free workshops across the day, aimed to provide support for teachers and school leaders, and ultimately the students they serve. Please note, we're excited to offer workshops for families and caregivers, too! Some of these workshops will be 15-minute "micro workshops" on super-specific topics. Some will be longer sessions, designed to provide opportunities for role-playing, watching videos, sharing stories, and thinking together.
Please see the SATURDAY REUNION SCHEDULE and make sure to Register for the opening keynote.
Featured Speakers: Jan Burkins and Kari Yates
Jan Burkins and Kari Yates are experienced authors, speakers, and consultants. They have deep roots in early childhood education and share a passion for supporting students (and their teachers) in the earliest stages of reading and writing development by providing professional learning experiences and teacher tools. They are the co-authors of Shifting the Balance: 6 Ways to Bring the Science of Reading into the Balanced Literacy Classroom (Stenhouse, 2021) and, most recently, Shifting the Balance: 6 Ways to Bring the Science of Reading into the Upper Elementary Classroom (Stenhouse, 2023), in collaboration with Katie Egan Cunningham.

Participation
To participate in this event, you agree to conduct that is professional and respectful toward all members/presenters. We reserve the right to remove comments and individuals from the group/presentation that do not follow these guidelines.
Please keep yourself muted at all times unless you are actively speaking.
Please be a good Zoom citizen:
Please do not leave sessions early or join sessions late! This is disruptive to the presenters and your fellow participants.
Please be respectful of the presenter’s time. We know many people might want to stay after a session has ended to ask questions, but the presenter may need to go to their next session to present.

Making recordings of any portion of this event is unlawful and violates the rights of Teachers College and individual instructors and speakers. Teachers College reserves all rights to bring legal action against any individual believed to have engaged in unlawful recording, copying, sharing, or posting and/or any other violation of law, including without limitation copyright and privacy laws.

Troubleshooting on Zoom
If you are using the Zoom app, make sure you have updated to the latest version.
If you click on a meeting link and it says that the host hasn’t started the meeting, please double-check your schedule to make sure you’re clicking on the correct link and that's it the correct time/time zone.
If you are having trouble getting into a meeting or breakout room, please first try quitting the Zoom app or your browser and reopening. If that does not work, please try restarting your computer. If you’re using a Chromebook, you may need to use the main room to discuss.
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of sessions and participants at the Saturday Reunion, we are not able to provide technical support for individual participants.
